Roller Derby In All Its Weird and Wonderful Glory
The story behind Valentine Crush came from writer/producer Leah Simmons' 10+ years playing flat track roller derby with the Sioux Falls Roller Dollz. When it came to actually shooting the derby scenes, Leah reached out to local skaters to help make the skating scenes for the movie come to life!

Though the production team was not able to work with two full derby teams due to COVID restrictions and safety measures, we are incredibly grateful to the skaters to came out for our crazy two days of shooting! Even though the back-to-back days meant roughly twelve hours in their skates, as you can see: no one seemed to mind!
